Matt Crosland (Administrator of Academic Training)

Matt Crosland 800 x 800Matt Crosland is the Administrator of Academic Training at the Ukarumpa Training Centre. He has an MA in Intercultural Studies, BA in Biblical Studies and History and twenty five years’ experience in construction and hospitality. He enjoys learning about PNG life and culture with his wife and seven children.

Michel Pauw (Academic Dean)

Michel-Pauw Michel Pauw is the Academic Dean of PILAT. He comes from The Netherlands and studied Theology, Classics, Education and Applied Linguistics. He has an MA in Classics and is specialized in Ancient and Koine Greek. He has an MA with honours in Education and a PGCert in Applied Linguistics. Michel has 15 years of experience in teaching teens and adults.

Since his arrival in Papua New Guinea in 2014, he is involved in teaching Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Greek and Linguistics.

Inga Glissmann (Teacher)

Inga GlissmannInga is from Germany and has been in PNG since 2012. During this time she has been involved in two language projects and in workshops in different provinces. She has a B.A. in Theology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Field Linguistics.  Inga enjoys the cultural diversity of PNG and the hospitality of the people..

Steven Ttopoqogo (Teacher)

Steven TtopoqogoSteven comes from near Garaina, Bulolo District, in Morobe Province and is the third generation in his family of translators working on the Guhu Samane Bible. He teaches translation principles on the Translators’ Training Courses, with a special interest in comparing biblical poetry with PNG songs.

Jacob Bullock (Teacher)

Jacob Bullock Profile PictureJacob Bullock has been on staff as a teacher at PILAT since 2013. Jacob holds a B.S. in Biblical Studies, an M.A. in Intercultural Studies and has specialized in biblical languages, anthropological description and descriptive linguistics. Jacob’s passion is to see people grow in their knowledge of the language and background of the Bible as a firm basis for understanding.

 

Ray Stegeman (Teacher)

Ray has been a teacher at the Training Center since 2012 where he mostly concentrates on teaching linguistics related topics like Language Discovery (TTC) and Discover Your Language, where participants/students learn about grammatical structures in their languages that help them with the translation process. Before coming to Ukarumpa, Ray received a Masters degree in Linguistics and was involved in completing a New Testament translation project in Guyana, South America. Ray loves the people of PNG and desires to see more people grow in their experience with God’s Word in the languages that speak best to their hearts.

Vico Solano (Teacher)

Vico is from Costa Rica and has been in PNG since 2007. He is an IT specialist and has been serving in the IT department mainly on web development and Mac support. He has been involved in teaching basic computing and Paratext courses, and joined the Training Center staff in 2018.

Devin Schlote (Teacher)

Devin moved to PNG from the United States in July, 2019 along with his wife, Charity, and daughter, Keseda. He has a B.A. in Biblical Studies, an M.A. in Biblical Languages, and a graduate certificate in Applied Linguistics. He loves seeing God’s Word come alive in the hearts and minds of students so that they may grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus and share it with others.

John Craig (Facilities Manager)

John came to us from the US with his wife and 3 kids. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from N.C. State University. He has served in Papua New Guinea since 2015 and splits his time between the Training Center and the Construction and Maintenance department. He loves meeting new people, building things, and collecting new skills. For John, coming to PNG was like coming home for the first time.

Antonia Alberts (Office)

Antonia is from Switzerland. She has a diploma in administration and worked many years in Switzerland in different positions. With her husband Johann, a pastor, she was involved in the leadership of a church for more than 20 years, many of those in the church office. Their three children are adults and live in Switzerland. They have been serving in Papua New Guinea since 2015.

Josephine Bowo (Office)

Jo is from Aiyura, Papua New Guinea. She is a member of the 2013 Ukarumpa International School graduating class. She has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Papua New Guinea, majoring in Environmental Science and Geography.

 

Naomi Keneqa (Office)

Naomi is from Aiyura, Papua New Guinea. She is a member of the 2012 Ukarumpa International School graduating class. She has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Papua New Guinea, majoring in Environmental Science and Geography.
