Michel Pauw is the Academic Dean of PILAT. He comes from The Netherlands and studied Theology, Classics, Education and Applied Linguistics. He has an MA in Classics and is specialized in Ancient and Koine Greek. He has an MA with honours in Education and a PGCert in Applied Linguistics. Michel has 15 years of experience in teaching teens and adults.
Since his arrival in Papua New Guinea in 2014, he is involved in teaching Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Greek and Linguistics.
Zaccheaus comes from Itokama, Oro Province. He is an IT specialist with a background in teaching basic IT skills to Papua New Guineans.
Steven comes from near Garaina, Bulolo District, in Morobe Province and is the third generation in his family of translators working on the Guhu Samane Bible. He teaches translation principles on the Translators’ Training Courses, with a special interest in comparing biblical poetry with PNG songs.
Ray has been a teacher at the Training Center since 2012 where he mostly concentrates on teaching linguistics related topics like Language Discovery (TTC) and Discover Your Language, where participants/students learn about grammatical structures in their languages that help them with the translation process. Before coming to Ukarumpa, Ray received a Masters degree in Linguistics and was involved in completing a New Testament translation project in Guyana, South America. Ray loves the people of PNG and desires to see more people grow in their experience with God’s Word in the languages that speak best to their hearts.
Vico is from Costa Rica and has been in PNG since 2007. He is an IT specialist and has been serving in the IT department mainly on web development and Mac support. He has been involved in teaching basic computing and Paratext courses, and joined the Training Center staff in 2018.
Jo is from Aiyura, Papua New Guinea. She is a member of the 2013 Ukarumpa International School graduating class. She has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Papua New Guinea, majoring in Environmental Science and Geography.
Naomi is from Aiyura, Papua New Guinea. She is a member of the 2012 Ukarumpa International School graduating class. She has a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Papua New Guinea, majoring in Environmental Science and Geography.
